​The George Braithwaite Major League (GBML) National Championship 2026 was held to honor George Braithwaite, a respected coach. The legendary “Chief” George Braithwaite had spent decades of his life visualizing and promoting a team league concept in the United States similar to what’s held in Europe. When he was vice president of USATT in the 1990s, he started this league. His contributions and influence continue to impact the ping pong community through the George Braithwaite major league.

​PongSpace, the organization hosting GBML, is dedicated to bring people together regardless of age, height, weight, gender, race and social or economic backgrounds. Their founders have been competing and organizing table tennis events for the last 30 years. They have dedicated themselves to making it fun for everyone in America. 

​On May 23, Jason Mei competed in the GBML 2026 along with Sean Chao and Rohit Barua. The event consisted of 2 divisions, with 6 teams in division 1 and 8 teams in division 2. After placing first in their round robin, their team made it to the elimination brackets and ultimately placed 3rd in division 1.
